How do I connect with a third degree connection on LinkedIn if we already messaged by InMail?

Follow these steps:
  1. Click their name at the top of the InMail message to view their profile
  2. Click “connect” on their profile page
  3. Type a customized message like “hey we’ve been messaging from InMail but I just realized we’re still not connected”
  4. Send the connection request
  5. They still have the option to accept
