What makes Linkedin think someone is an interesting view?

Common ground – especially Industry and Seniority level. Those have historically been the two most significant factors. As shown in the screenshot below “Senior leader” typically means that person has a senior position in current their place of employment – usually the job title CEO, (vice) President, or Manager. “Industry” is the industry you’ve chosen for yourself in your profile settings. Common ground in Industry and Seniority level represents significant B2B relationship potential, that’s why it’s labeled as an Interesting View.  See below:

Other factors are if that person is associated with someone/something that you follow (like a company/university page)

As well as mutual connections and University attendance.

Actions to take on Interesting Views

If you’re connected: You may or may not know why they viewed your profile. If you do know why, send them a message that produces fruitful action. If you don’t know why they viewed your profile, do the same.

If you’re not connected: You have to decide whether or not you want this person to be in your network. Read their profile and if you do, send them a connection request with a custom message telling them you saw they viewed your profile asking if there’s anything you can do for them.
