How to add Interests on Linkedin
Adding interests on Linkedin is easy once you realize where they come from. The confusion generally comes from the way Linkedin automatically creates interests for you based on:
(1) Influencers you follow
(2) Companies you follow
(3) Schools you follow
(4) Groups you are a part of
Adding and removing (or editing) interests on Linkedin is just a matter of following/unfollowing those four things.
Here’s how you add interests on Linkedin (and remove them)
Step 1: View your profile
Step 2: Scroll to the bottom until you see Interests and click “See All”
Step 3: View your interest by category
You’ll see the four categories of interests as tabs near the top: Influencers, Companies, Groups, and Schools.
Influencers
Companies
Groups
Schools
Step 4: Removing Interests That You Follow
To remove interests in the categories Of Influencers, Companies, and Schools click the check box to Unfollow. Once you do that you’ll see a + instead of a check. Alternatively, you can navigate to their profile/page and select “unfollow” and they’ll be removed.
Step 5: Removing Groups From Your Interests
This one’s more difficult. To remove Groups view all your groups here and click the group you want to remove from your profile.
You’ll be taken to your group page. Click the settings menu at the top right (three dots) and select “Update your settings.”
Set Display group on profile from “Yes” to “No”
Step 6: Adding Interests
To add influencers, companies, and schools all you have to do is follow them. In the same way, every group that you join will also be added.
